Ruthanne Haut, Hospitality/Food and Beverages Coordinator
Ruthanne Haut is an infrastructure analyst with The City of Houston’s Department of Public Works and Engineering. In this role, Ms. Haut is charged with providing analysis for long term capital planning of public works projects for the City of Houston. Currently, she assisting the development of an asset inventory and project prioritization method for the City’s water and wastewater Capital Improvement Projects planning process.
Ms. Haut holds a Masters Public Policy from Rutgers University’s Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. During her time at the Bloustein School, Ms. Haut concentrated in environmental policy with an emphasis on ecological economics. She was a member of a team funded by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection to perform a peer review and continuing research for the report entitled, “Valuing New Jersey’s Natural Capital: An Assessment of the Economic Value of the State’s Natural Resources”. Ms. Haut also co-authored an article for Policy Sciences Journal entitled, Balancing Alternatives and Avoiding False Dichotomies to Make Informed U.S. Electricity Policy.
A big believer in the power of vegetables, Ms. Haut supports the local non-profit Last Organic Outpost and can often be found on weekends digging in the dirt at the Emile Street Community Farm.
